Construction is nearly complete on the George and Evanthea Demoulas Family Boathouse. The new facility replaces the Lyman and Holcombe buildings that have served the rowing program for decades but were deteriorating significantly. As interest in rowing continues to grow and use of the waterfront increases, it is time to consolidate the buildings onto one footprint that will support Brooks students for the next 100 years. Features of the new facility include:

  • Varsity and JV crews under one roof

  • Program room to replicate the use of the Lyman Boathouse main room for team meetings, events and race-day programming

  • Ample storage space for current fleet

  • Spacious covered porch for race viewing, team meetings, training and events

  • Indoor team rooms that will allow for weatherproof and safe storage of student gear during practice and races

  • A shop bay for boat repair, with storage for parts and tools

  • A room for coaches to store gear and to meet with other coaches and athletes

  • State-of-the-art technology for reviewing film and livestreaming

  • Storage and area for the use of ergs and weights — allowing the rowers to warm up and practice in the same facility

  • A secure, dry, well-lit facility to showcase the legacy of the program

  • Dedicated storage for the sailing program’s equipment

  • Room to expand to include eights for post-season training and small boats for sculling
